Add a second WhatsApp number, or archive one

You connect another number for a new user, or retire one you no longer use. Use it when your team grows, or when a number is no longer needed.

You can connect one WhatsApp number per user — every workspace has at least one. More numbers come with more users, bought in Settings → Billing. Archived numbers don't count.

Questions

How do I add a second WhatsApp number?

Each number belongs to one user: invite the person in Settings, Users & Roles (Invite Member) and assign them a licence, then they connect the second number from WhatsApp Web with their email code. It then shows under WhatsApp Numbers. To retire a number, click Archive on its row: its key stops, it no longer counts, and its messages and leads stay. Show archived lists archived numbers and Restore brings one back with a new key.

What happens to messages and leads when I archive a WhatsApp number?

They stay, under the same person's name. The key stops at once, and messages waiting to send from it, and cadences on it, stop.

Why can I not delete a WhatsApp number?

Delete is only for a number that was never used. A number with history must be archived. Only the workspace owner can delete an archived number permanently.
